Finance Minister Sitharaman’s 11-day US-Peru Yatra, G20 and IMF-World will participate in meetings

Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman left for the US and Peru on a 11 -day official visit on Saturday night. During this time, she will participate in the meetings of G20 finance ministers and central bank governors as well as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank meetings. The Finance Ministry said in a statement issued on Saturday that Sitharaman will participate in the bounded meetings with the top CEO of the Top Information Technology (IT) companies in San Francisco during his visit. She will also interact with investors.

On April 20, Finance Minister San Francisco will make a speech at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, Finance. Subsequently, in Washington from 22-25 April, she will participate in the IMF and World Bank meetings, G20 Finance Ministers and Governors’ second meeting, development committee meeting, IMFC meeting and Global Sovereign Credit Rolle Table (GSDR) meeting.

There will be many bilateral meetings

During his visit to America, Sitharaman will hold bilateral meetings with its counterparts from several countries including Argentina, Bahrain, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Saudi Arabia, Britain and America. She will also meet the Commissioner of Financial Services of the European Union, Chairman of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Chairman of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and the first Deputy Managing Director of IMF. After the US, Sitharaman will visit Peru, where she will meet President Dina Boluart and Prime Minister Gustavo Adriangen. She will also hold bilateral meetings with Peru’s finance and economy, defense and energy ministers. The journey is an important opportunity for India to strengthen its position on global economic forums and promote important bilateral relations.
