EPFO Auto Claim: Union Labor and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandavia said on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 that the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has increased the limit of auto claim settlement of Provident Fund (PF) to ₹ 5 lakh. Earlier this limit was ₹ 1 lakh.
This change has brought relief for the EPFO members who feel the need for a quick fund in an emergency. This information is given in the PTI report.
This facility started during Kovid
EPFO first launched the facility of auto-calm settlement during the Kovid-19 epidemic so that members can withdraw money from their funds without any delay. Now by increasing this limit five times, the organization has given more flexibility to the EPF member. This will make it possible to withdraw money in the situation in medical emergency.
How to use auto claim
Your UAN (Universal Account Number) should be active to avail the facility of EPFO’s auto claim. Also, your KYC details such as Aadhaar, bank account number and PAN EPFO should be updated and verified on the portal. Causes of claims such as medical, natural disaster etc. should be valid for auto settlement.
Step-by-step process:
- Go to the official website of EPFO and login with UAN and password.
- Go to the “Online Services” tab and click on “Claim (Form-31, 19, 10C & 10D)”.
- Verify the bank account and go to “Proceed for Online Claim” and select Form-31.
- Choose the reason, fill the amount. Also, if the document is necessary, then upload it and submit it.
- Now you can see your claim status in the “Track Claim Status” section.
19.14 lakh new members connected in April 2025
EPFO added 19.14 lakh new members on a net basis in April 2025. This is 31.31% higher than March 2025 and 1.17% higher than in April 2024. The Ministry of Labor has credited this growth to new employment opportunities, increasing awareness on employee benefits and active promotional strategies of EPFO.
According to the report, youths between 18 and 25 years of age were the biggest contributor to EPFO. 4.89 lakh new subscribers were added to this age group, which are 57.67% of the total new members.
According to EPFO’s pay-rol report, the state of Maharashtra has performed the best in the country in April 2025 in terms of Net Pay-Roll Additions. In addition, about 15.77 lakh old members who had previously been out of the EPFO re -engaged in April.
