EPFO: Employees can now check their provident fund (PF) balance without logging in the portal. Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) provides two easy service for this. First missed call and second SMS service. These service are very beneficial for those who do not have internet facilities. They do not want to use a digital portal, they can know all missed calls and EPF balance through SMS.
Check PF balance with missed call
Give a missed call to 9966044425 from registered mobile number. The call will be cut automatically and in no time you will get information about PF balance and last contribution through SMS. This facility is absolutely free.
Get pf details from SMS
You do SMS on 7738299899 by writing EPFOHO UAN from your registered mobile. After this you will get information about balance, final contribution and KYC status.
If you want to get information in another language, then include the language code in the message, such as for Hindi – EPFOHO UAN HIN. Other language codes are – Punjabi (Pun), Gujarati (GUJ), Marathi (Mar), Kannada (Kan), Telugu (TEL), Tamil (TAM), Malayalam (MAL), Bangla (Ben).
Necessary rules to use these service
Your universal account number (UAN) should be active.
The mobile number should be linked to UAN.
There should be at least one KYC detail update from Aadhaar, PAN or bank account.
How to activate uan
Go to the EPFO member portal, click on Activate UAN. Then enter UAN, name, date of birth, mobile number and captcha. After OTP arrives, submit it and set the password.
KYC updating process
Login on the EPFO portal from UAN and password. Go to the Manage Tab and choose the KYC option. Add Aadhaar, PAN or bank details and click on Save. After this your employer will have to approve it. With these facilities, employees can easily check their PF account without internet.
