EPFO has made many updates in its system, so that now members can easily correct their personal details without any documents. This includes information like name spelling, date of birth, parents’ names, gender, marital status, spouse’s name and date of entry and exit from the company. With this new update it will be easier for members to edit their information.
Who can update
EPFO informed that this facility is available only to those members whose Universal Account Number (UAN) number is linked and verified with Aadhaar. The objective of this process is to reduce complaints and to resolve pending requests quickly. Earlier, the change required verification from the employer, which took approximately 28 days. Now with this new facility members will be able to easily update their information and this process has become faster and simpler.
It is necessary to link PAN with Aadhar
First of all EPFO members have to ensure whether their Aadhar card is linked to PAN or not. If there is no link then it is necessary to link both of them first. According to the information received, EPFO’s approval will still be required to update 50% of the information. The remaining information can be updated by the members themselves. This step is being taken so that the increasing complaints can be reduced and their resolution can be done faster.
how to update
To update, first go to EPFO website and login by entering your UAN number and password. Then click on the ‘Manage’ tab above. If you need to update information like name, date of birth or gender, select the ‘Modify Basic Details’ option. Fill the correct information as per Aadhaar card and note that the details of EPF and Aadhaar should be same. Upload documents like Aadhaar, PAN or birth certificate if needed.
