India vs England match
A five -match T20 series is being played between India and England. The first match of this series was won by Team India by 7 wickets. The match was played in Kolkata. England have lagged behind 0–1 in the series due to the defeat in this match. England vice-captain Harry Brook said that his team’s hopes against India’s spin bowlers in the first T20 match were in trouble by the mist in Kolkata. Brook scored 17 runs in 14 balls, but then bowled by India’s leg -spinner Varun Chakraborty. England’s score fell from 65/2 to 109/8 and was eventually all out for 132 runs, while India’s spinners took a total of five wickets.
England’s strange excuse
Chakraborty took three wickets for 23 runs, while his partner Ravi Bishnoi faced difficulty in taking wickets. Brook said before the second T20 match in Chennai that he had difficulty identifying Chakravarti’s balls due to the mist, but hoped that it would be easy to see the ball in a clear season. He described Chakraborty’s bowling as excellent and said that England’s strategy would be to win the game against him by bringing him under pressure.
England has made such excuses before
The situation is not new to England, as Ted Deyxter, president of former England selectors, had also led the fog to defeat during the 1992-93 tour of India. The issue has become serious in the last few years, as a Test match had to be canceled due to pollution in 2017. The second T20 match has changed the England team, replacing Gus Atkinson, Bordon Cars has been replaced as a fast bowler, and Jamie Smith has been included as the 12th player. Brook said that England head coach Brendon McCullum had already warned that some time would come when the team would not play correctly. Brook also described the process of becoming its vice-captain and said that his cooperation with Jose Butler will be mainly limited to suggestions, as Butler himself is very experienced.
