Electricity will be cheaper in Maharashtra

The Chief Minister said that this decision has been taken after the approval of Maharashtra State Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC). MRC has accepted the petition of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (Mahavitaran) in which demands to reduce electricity rates. Earlier, most times companies demanded to increase electricity rates, but for the first time Mahavitaran filed a petition to reduce the rates and it was also approved.

Electricity rates will be reduced by 26 percent in 5 years

The Chief Minister wrote on X (first Twitter) that for the first time in the history of the state, electricity rates will be reduced by 10% in the first year and in 5 years a total rates will decrease by 26%. Common people will get the most benefit from this.

Which customers will benefit?

According to Chief Minister Fadnavis, this deduction in power tariffs will be applicable to all three category domestic, industrial and commercial customers. The special thing is that about 70% of the customers in Maharashtra are such that use less than 100 units of electricity every month. Such consumers will get direct and big benefit from this decision.

Medium and lower class will benefit

This decision will be relieved especially to middle class and lower class families, which have a direct impact of the increasing electricity bill. Now they will pay low electricity bills every month, which will increase saving.

Rapid work on Chief Minister Solar Agricultural Vahini Yojana 2.0

The Chief Minister’s Office informed that fast work has been started on the Chief Minister Solar Agricultural Vahini Yojana 2.0. The scheme was started in 2017, with decentralized solar power projects from 2 MW to 10 MW, within 5 km radius of agricultural focused sub -centers. This provides electricity to farmers during the day and also promotes solar energy generation in the state.
