US Defense Minister Pete Hegseth said on Wednesday that the Qatar government has given a Boeing 747-8 jumbo jet for President Donald Trump. It will be used as Air Force One.
This luxury plane priced at Rs 3400 crore is called ‘Flying Palace’ or Udta Mahal. This is the most expensive gift ever received by any US President.
Trump will have to wait for security clearance before using this plane, which may take 3 to 4 years. In such a situation, it is possible that Trump is not able to use it as President.
Trump recently reached Qatar on the second day of his Middle East tour on 14 May. Here he made a deal of about 100 lakh crore rupees ($ 1.2 trillion) with the Qatar government.

Boeing 747-8 Jumbo Jet, also known as “Flying Palace”, is famous for its luxury and advanced technology. This is the latest and largest version of the Boeing 747 series.
Boeing 747-8 can be converted into luxury suites for 40–100 passengers during the VIP configuration. It has facility like master bedroom, conference room, dining area, lounge and bathroom.
The plane has four Genx-2B turbofan engines. Along with this, there is a modern glass cockpit and navigation system. There are facilities such as infrared jammer as counters for security from missiles.
The lounge and dining area have a large dining table, high-tech screen, video conferencing, blue-ray player and high quality audio system.
This plane can fly full speed with 0.92 Mac (about 1,100 km/h). Along with this, they are capable of flying at an altitude of 51 thousand feet. It is the largest commercial plane in the world.
This luxury plane being seen as a bribe
Trump told the media at the White House on May 12 that Qatar is giving us a gift. If we do not accept it then we will be foolish humans.
Trump’s business is spread over the middle East. Recently, his company has announced a new golf resort in Qatar, which is being partnership with the company owned by the Qatar government. In such a situation, this gift is being seen as ‘bribe’ or ‘interests’.
According to the US Constitution, no person sitting in a government post can take any gift or degree from any king or foreign state without the consent of the Congress (Parliament).
US Defense Department Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said that his department will decide all necessary security measures in this aircraft, so that the President can use it safely. He said that this gift has been accepted according to all government rules.
Foreign gifts are deposited in government treasury

According to reports, Trump will temporarily use this aircraft as an option for Air Force One. Air Force Forest is the official aircraft of the US President. Currently, Trump’s private aircraft ‘Trump Force One’ is an old 757 jet, which is the 1990s. It was purchased in 2011.
Qatar’s plane is more modern and fantastic than the present force one. However, Qatar has not said anything openly about it yet. The CBS News report stated that at the end of Trump’s tenure, the plane would be donated to the President Library.
Even after getting the gift, the Boeing 747-8 will not be able to use the jumbo aircraft until the Trump Security Clearance is received. It may take a few years.
