Chennai resident Sriram Krishnan is currently a partner in a venture capital firm named Andreessen Horiwitz.
US President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday appointed Indian-origin businessman and venture capitalist Sriram Krishnan as the White House’s Senior Policy Advisor on Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Regarding this appointment, Trump wrote on Along with this, he will help the government in AI policy making by working with the President’s Advisory Council on Science and Technology.

Sriram Krishnan has been interested in consumer tech and crypto. Apart from this, he is also fond of story telling.
Krishnan started his career with Microsoft Krishnan, a resident of Chennai, is an engineer by profession. Presently he is a partner in the venture capital firm named Andreessen Horiwitz. This company is also known as a16z. He started his first job at Microsoft in 2007 as a program manager for Visual Studio. After this he joined Facebook in 2013. Here he worked on many important positions including Product/Business Strategy till 2016. Krishnan also worked with Snapchat, where he built an ad tech platform before the company’s IPO.
Sriram Krishnan joined Twitter in 2017 after working in top companies of Silicon Valley. Led the core consumer product team here. During this period, he was successful in increasing Twitter user growth by 20%. He had to do important work like Twitter’s home timeline, new user experience, search, discovery and audience growth. He remained associated with Twitter till 2019 and relaunched the home page.
Blue tick subscription was suggested to Musk Along with this, he has also held important roles in Yahoo company. He has also been on the board of many companies like Bitsky, Hopin and Polywork. In 2021, he joined Andreessen Horiwitz. He is a major investor in Club House. Clubhouse is a social audio app that was released in 2020.
Sriram Krishnan had suggested to Elon Musk to take money in exchange for blue-tick. After Musk bought Twitter, Sriram Krishnan played an important role in its new setup.
Like Krishnan, his wife Aarti Ramamurthy is also from Chennai. The two became friends while chatting on Yahoo.
