Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) bowler Digvesh Singh Rathi is not desisting from his antics. In IPL 2025, Digvesh Singh has suffered a big loss many times due to his celebration, but is not taking the name of improving. In fact, Digvesh celebrated the wicket in an aggressive manner after dismissing Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma, which SRH’s batsman did not like at all. After this, there was a fierce tussle between the two. Seeing the matter hot, the umpires had to intervene. Now both the players have been punished for this action.
Ban of a match
LSG bowler Digvesh Singh Rathi has faced a penalty several times due to his antics this season. Now he has been fined once again. In the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Digvesh Singh Rathi has been sentenced to confront Abhishek Sharma. Digvesh has been fined 50 percent of the match fees for violating the IPL Code of Conduct. There is also a ban of a match. Digvesh Singh has been banned due to repeated the same mistake in IPL 2025. Due to this ban, Digvesh will not be able to land on the ground for Lucknow Super Giants in the match against Gujarat Titans on 22 May.
Digvesh Singh Rathi has been in discussion this season due to his antics. Rathi has had to pay a fine several times in IPL 2025 due to his ‘notebook celebration’. For the first time, he was fined for this celebration in the match against Punjab Kings on 1 April. Also a demerit point was also found. After this, after dismissing Naman Dhir against Mumbai Indians on April 4, he was also given 2 demerit points in addition to imposing a fine of 50 percent match fee. Even after this, Digvesh did not desist from his antics and now he took 2 more demerit points to mess with Abhishek Sharma in the match against SRH. In this way, a total of 5 demerit points have been added to his account. According to IPL rules, if a player scores four demerit points over a period of 36 months, he has to face a match ban.

On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad all -rounder Abhishek Sharma has also been fined 25 percent of the match fees for violating the IPL Code of Conduct. This was his first level 1 crime under Article 2.6 this season and hence, he has received a demerit point. For violations of the Code of Conduct, the decision of the match referee is final and binding.
