Digital life certificate is necessary if not submitted pension may be stopped, know the complete process – digital life certificate is necessary if not submitted pension may be stopped know the complete process

An important information has come for all the senior citizens receiving pension. The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW), Government of India, has announced to run the fourth nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) campaign for the year 2025 from November 1 to November 30. During this period, all pensioners should submit the digital life certificate on time to avoid any interruption in their pension.

Digital Life Certificate is a biometric based Aadhaar-based online certificate, with the help of which it is proved that the pensioner is alive and the pension should continue regularly. To deposit it, the pensioner has to provide information like Aadhaar number, name, mobile number, pension payment order (PPO) number, and bank account details.

Non-submission of Digital Life Certificate may hamper pension, hence it is very important to complete it on time. Especially elderly pensioners above 80 years of age can submit their certificates from October 1 itself.

The government has planned to organize special camps in 2000 district and sub-division headquarters across the country to ease the process. Apart from this, this service will also be provided to elderly, sick and disabled pensioners at home or hospital, so that they do not face any kind of inconvenience.

Pensioners can submit Digital Life Certificate in multiple ways. They can submit it through online Aadhaar authentication from Life Certificate portal, using Jeevan Pramaan App, with the help of postman, doorstep banking service or getting signature from designated officials.

Aadhaar number or Virtual ID (VID) is mandatory for generating Digital Life Certificate, and without it it is not possible to generate DLC. Therefore, those pensioners whose Aadhaar has not been linked yet, should log in and update it as soon as possible.

This launch is a big step towards a digital system in place of the traditional life certificate, which will increase transparency in the pension distribution system and pensioners will not need to visit government offices again and again. This will also reduce the incidents of fraud and wrong pension distribution.

Therefore, all the people taking pension should submit their digital life certificate on time from 1st to 30th November, so that there is no hindrance in the pension and they continue to receive their financial assistance regularly.
