Dhakad batsman suddenly announced retirement, put a break on a 15 -year long career

A big news has come out from the cricket world. Dhakad batsman has suddenly announced retirement from cricket. This has come after the defeat of the retirement team. In fact, at present in Indian domestic cricket, the Ranji Trophy is being played in the quarter-final round matches in 2024-25. The fourth quarter -final match of the Ranji Trophy was played in Rajkot, in which there was a competition between Saurashtra and Gujarat. In this match, Gujarat defeated Saurashtra and made it to the semi -finals of the Ranji Trophy. On the other hand, after the defeat of Saurashtra, Dhakad batsman Sheldon Jackson said goodbye to cricket.

Said after defeat

Sheldon Jackson said goodbye to his team’s professional cricket career for nearly 15 years after the defeat to Gujarat in the Ranji Trophy quarter -finals of his team on 11 February. The 38 -year -old batsman played 105 first class matches in his career in which he scored more than 7200 runs. He scored 21 centuries and 39 half -centuries. His best score was 186 runs. Jackson ended his career with an average of over 45. He was a trustworthy batsman as well as a great fielder. He also did wicketkeeping in limited overs cricket from Saurashtra. He scored 14 and 27 runs in his last match against Gujarat.

Could never get a chance in Team India

Jackson made his first class cricket debut in 2011 for Saurashtra. With his brilliant performance, Saurashtra made it to the final of the tournament for the first time in the 2012-13 Ranji season. On the basis of his brilliant performance in domestic cricket, Jackson was selected in the India A team for the West Indies tour. He also played an important role in Saurashtra becoming Ranji Champion in 2015-16. Jackson said goodbye to limited overs cricket last month. He scored 2792 runs in 84 innings in List A. Sheldon Jackson’s first class career was quite long but he was one of the unfortunate cricketers who never got a chance to play for Team India.
