Office will remain closed

The Delhi government has announced the public holiday on 5 February. The offices have been closed to ensure that government employees get a chance to participate in voting. This order has been issued under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881 and Section 135-B of the Representation of the People Act 1951.

School-college will be closed

All government and private schools and colleges will also remain closed, as many of these schools will be used as polling stations.

Cinema and liquor shops will remain closed

If a company refuses to give a holiday for voting, it will be a violation of election laws. According to Section 135-B, all registered voters of the state will give their employer paid leave.

Election will be held in 70 assembly seats in Delhi

There will be voting for 70 assembly seats in Delhi, for which strict security arrangements have been made. The Election Commission is taking all necessary steps to decide peaceful voting.
