On Sunday, the AK-47 rifle magazine was found from the bag of Asif Mahmud Sazib Bhuiyan, the interim government’s interim government at Dhaka Airport in Bangladesh. However, he was released after investigation by security agencies. Asif Mahmud was going to Marrakesh in Morocco to attend a meeting of the organization (OIC) of Islamic countries (number D 00018185).
According to media reports, Asif Mahmood was on the ninth boarding bridge for identification and security checks at Dhaka Airport. During the scanning, metal goods were detected in his carry-on hand baggage. Security personnel posted on the scanner took the bag from Asif Mahmud and the magazine was taken out of his bag.
Security personnel immediately called senior officers from them. After this, officials of Bangladeshi Security Agency also arrived, but after investigation, Asif Mahmood was allowed to go to Turki Airlines flight TK-713. The flight flew at 7:08 am.
Asif Mahmud gave his clarification on the incident in a post on Facebook on Sunday night. He said, ‘I have a license gun for personal and family safety. While packing in the morning, I accidentally left a magazine in my bag. When it was discovered during the scanning, I immediately handed over my bag to the protocol officer. This happened completely inadvertently. ‘
Asif said, ‘What could I do with just a magazine? If I had any bad intention, I would not leave the rifle at home. ‘ However, neither Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus nor Home Ministry Advisor Lt Gen (Retired) Jahangir Alam Chaudhary has made any statement regarding the incident.
