DA Hike: In the festive season, the central government has given great news to lakhs of its employees. The government has not only increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) but has also announced Diwali bonus for Group B and C employees. That is, increased DA, arrears and Diwali bonus will come in the salary of the employees. Employees will get triple benefit.
3 percent increase in DA
The central government has increased the DA of employees from 55% to 58%. This revision will be effective from July 1, 2025. This means that in the October salary, employees will also get arrears from July to September. Due to this, there will be a good increase in salary in the festival month.
The government increases DA twice every year. First in March and second time around festivals, the government increases DA. It also gives Diwali bonus in October. There was an increase of 2% in March this year and now DA has been increased by 3%. The government has increased the DA of government employees by 5 percent in one year. If the basic salary of an employee is Rs 18,000, then he will get approximately Rs 1,620 including three months’ arrears at the rate of 3%.
Diwali Bonus for Group B and C Employees
The central government has announced a bonus equal to 30 days’ salary to its Group C and non-gazetted Group B employees. This amount will be given along with the salary for the month of October. The government says that this step has been taken to honor the hard work of the employees and to further enhance the joy of festivals.
Railway workers got the biggest bonus
This time Diwali has been very special for the railway employees also. The central government had announced to give them Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) equal to 78 days’ salary. This amount was released before Dussehra, due to which the employees got a maximum bonus of Rs 17,951.
How much will the salary increase due to increase in DA?
The effect of DA increase will be visible at all levels. The highest-ranking secretary level officers, whose basic salary is Rs 2,25,000, have seen an increase of about Rs 6,750. At the same time, employees working at the lowest level such as peons, whose basic salary is Rs 18,000, have seen an increase of Rs 540.
