Cabinet meeting
In the cabinet meeting held on 24 September, the performance-linked bonus was approved equal to 78 days salary for railway employees. But no update was given regarding DA or Dr hike. According to tradition, it is announced in the last week of September and arrears from July to September are paid in the first week of October.
Employee organizations resentment
The Central Staff Federation (CCGEW) has expressed concern over this delay. General Secretary SB Yadav said that DA or Dr was generally announced in the last week of September and a three -month arrears were found in early October. This time there is dissatisfaction among employees due to late.
How much can be increased?
If this increase is approved, DA/DR will increase by 3%. That is, this rate will increase from 55% to 58%. This will directly increase the salary and pension of employees and pensioners.
Why is Da important?
Dearness allowance is an important part of the income of government employees. Its purpose is to reduce the effect of increasing inflation. It is decided on the basis of the Industrial Labor Consumer Price Index (CPI-IW) and revision in January-June and July-December twice a year.
Last increase of 7th Pay Commission
This revision to be held for July-December 2025 is considered to be the final increase under the 7th Pay Commission. The 8th Pay Commission is expected to be implemented from January 2026.
