ICC U19 Women’s World Cup 2025: Every young cricketer dreams of making his debut in international cricket and if this dream comes true then that young player tries to make his debut memorable. Something similar has happened with India’s young bowler Vaishnavi Sharma, who created history by making her debut in the ICC U19 World Cup. 19 year old Vaishnavi Sharma got a chance to debut for Team India in the match against Malaysia. Capitalizing on this opportunity, Vaishnavi Sharma has created a sensation by taking a hat-trick in her debut match itself. He took 5 wickets giving just 5 runs. In this way, the entire Malaysian team collapsed for just 31 runs in 14.3 overs. In response, Team India achieved the target of 32 runs in just 2.5 overs and registered its second consecutive win in the tournament.
Team India, which won the toss and decided to bowl first, did not give Malaysia’s batsmen a chance to stay on the crease. Four out of 11 batsmen of Malaysia could not even open their account. The remaining 7 batsmen were also out after scoring only in single digits. 5 runs was the best score of the team’s batsman. Malaysia’s opening batsmen Noor Aliya Hairun and Husna scored 5 runs each. Vaishnavi Sharma bowled amazingly for India and did a great job of dismissing half the team by giving away 5 runs in just 4 overs. During this, he also bowled a maiden over. This bowling performance of Vaishnavi Sharma is the best bowling performance of the ICC U19 World Cup. Earlier this record was in the name of England’s Ellie Anderson. Eli took 5 wickets for 12 runs against West Indies in the 2023 U19 World Cup.
Apart from Vaishnavi Sharma, Ayushi Shukla hunted 3 batsmen while Joshita VJ got one success. In batting for India, the opening pair of Gongadi Trisha and G Kamalini took their team to the target within 3 overs without losing any wicket. Gongadi Trisha played a stormy inning of 27 runs in 12 balls with the help of 5 fours. He scored runs at a strike rate of more than 200. Whereas, Kamalini scored 4 runs and returned unbeaten.
