Diwali bonus: Just before Durga Puja, there has been great news for more than 2.20 lakh employees of Coal India. Employees will be given bonus soon. This year’s bonus performance linked reward has been agreed after a long conversation between company management and labor unions unions. All employees will get a bonus of Rs 1.03 lakh and this amount will be transferred to their bank accounts today.
Bonus more than last year
Last year, employees received a bonus of Rs 93,750. This time the amount of bonus is about Rs 10,000 more. This increase in the festive season is no less than a gift for coal workers.
How to agree?
A meeting was also started in Kolkata regarding this. Initially the management was adamant on giving Rs 98,500, while the unions were on a demand of Rs 1.25 lakh. Even the National Mines Mazdoor Federation protested and walked out of the meeting. Eventually, it was agreed to Rs 1.03 lakh. The management argued that the company’s economic condition is not yet completely stable, so giving too much bonus can cause problems in the future.
Which companies have benefits?
This bonus will be available to employees of various disciplines of Coal India. These include BCCL, CCL, ECL, CMPDI, MCL, NCL and SECL. Only about 800 crore rupees will be given to employees in Jharkhand. In this, 320 crores will be in part of BCCL and Rs 310 crore in CCL’s share.
Raunak will increase on festivals
With this decision of Coal India management, an extra amount of about Rs 2,100 crore will reach the market during festivals. This will benefit the local economy of coal mining areas, especially including Dhanbad and Jharkhand. The historic meeting was held in the presence of PM Prasad, chairman of Coal India and presided over by MCL CMD Anant Kavale. The faces of millions of employees have blossomed after the decision. This bonus found before Durga Puja is special for employees.
