Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu on Thursday reviewed the security arrangements at Srinagar and Jammu Airport while visiting the Union Territory for the first time after the struggle between India and Pakistan. According to PTI news, Jammu and Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir are included in the airports that were temporarily closed for civil flights in view of the struggle, and this week was reopened for civil flights.
Review of security arrangements at both airports
According to the news, it has been said on behalf of the minister’s office that Naidu arrived at Srinagar Airport in the morning and held extensive discussion with security agencies and concerned stakeholders. He also reviewed the development of passenger facilities and infrastructure at Srinagar Airport and later visited Jammu Airport. An official said that the minister reviewed the security arrangements at both the airports. In addition, Naidu visited Lal Chowk in Srinagar.
Ceasefire took place on Saturday
Security measures were extended after the conflict and at least 32 airports in the northern and western parts of the country were temporarily closed. On Saturday, India and Pakistan signed an agreement to stop all firing and military action on land, wind and sea with immediate effect. The flights had to be canceled only when the shutdown of Srinagar and Jammu Airport. Now the minister has said that all flights have been restored.
The minister said that I met the local residents here, who said that tourism should be encouraged here. The government will take all possible steps about this and give necessary instructions. He said that I met the airport officials and employees and encouraged them to do duty with their bravery.
