Nepal is surrounded by India for three directions. East, West and South. There is a 1,751 km long border between India and Nepal. In 1981, a joint party was formed to set the borders of the two countries, which also set a 98% limit. In 2000, Nepal’s Prime Minister Girijaprasad Koirala also urged Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee to resolve the dispute from negotiation.

In 2015, when India signed a trade route agreement with China by the Lipulekh route, Nepal also objected to this, saying that India and China should have asked him before making this agreement.
