Champions Trophy 2025: As the date of Champions Trophy 2025 is coming closer, the tension of Team India is increasing. India has not yet announced the team for the tournament. The last date to announce the team for the Champions Trophy is January 12, but till now no official statement has come from Team India. Many speculations are being made regarding the fitness of Jasprit Bumrah, who was injured during the Australia tour, and now the news is coming out that it is difficult for him to be completely fit till the Champions Trophy. This is the reason why Team India has sought a few days’ time from ICC to announce the team.
Meanwhile, big information has come to light regarding the fitness of Jasprit Bumrah. It is being said in media reports that Jasprit Bumrah’s back injury may take some time to heal. In such a situation, he may be out of the group stage of the Champions Trophy. The Champions Trophy 2025, in which the top eight ODI teams of the world will participate, will start from February 19, in which India’s matches will be played in Karachi, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Dubai.
According to the report of Indian Express, it is difficult for Jasprit Bumrah to play in all the 3 matches of the group stage of Champions Trophy. Bumrah, who has a swollen back, has been asked to report to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, where his recovery will be monitored.
Recovery may take a long time
According to a BCCI source, Bumrah is expected to be fully fit by the first week of March. Bumrah will go to NCA for his rehab. Initial reports say he does not have a fracture, but there is swelling on his back. Therefore, NCA will monitor his recovery and he will remain there for three weeks. But even after that he will have to play one or two matches.
May be out of group stage matches
In the Champions Trophy 2025, the Indian team will start its campaign against Bangladesh on 20 February. After this, Team India will face Pakistan on 23 February. India’s last group match is against New Zealand on March 2, but it is not yet clear whether Bumrah will be ready to play by then or not.
