Mumbai had set a big target of 206 runs to win in front of Delhi while batting first. During the run chase, Delhi’s grip remained on this match till the 12th over. But as soon as Karun Nair was dismissed, Delhi’s innings broke out and the pair of Karna Sharma and Mitchell Santner got five wickets to return to Mumbai match.
Akshar Patel’s anger exploded on batsmen
At one time it seemed that Delhi Capitals would easily make this match to their name. But in the end he had to lose the match by 12 runs. After losing the match, the captain of Delhi Capitals, apparently, looked quite disappointed. After the match, Akshar Patel held the bad shot selection of batsmen in the middle order responsible for defeat. Akshar Patel said that he had won this match. He believes that the middle order batsmen played some bad shots and lost wickets easily. This is the reason why he lost by 12 runs with an over remaining, yet he could win. It is not every time that the lower -order players win the team. Sometimes it happens when you play the wrong shot, so they don’t think there is no meaning to think too much about it.
Akshar Patel praised spinners
Regarding the target of 205 runs from Mumbai on the Delhi pitch, Akshar Patel said, “He felt that the target of 205 runs was excellent as it was a good pitch and dew was also coming.” He made some mistakes in fielding. If the catch was not missed, the target would have been less. Karun Nair played brilliantly as impact all. Akshar praised the spin bowlers and said, “He gets confidence by bowling his three spinners.” Two of the three can also bowl in powerplay. Kuldeep is bowling tremendously this season. Whenever he needs a wicket, he goes to Kuldeep. They feel that many good things have happened today, they just have to forget this match and move forward.
