How to Apply for Duplicate Car RC: If the registration certificate (RC) of your car has been lost, stolen or has deteriorated, then there is no need to panic. Now you can easily make duplicate RC. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) of the Government of India (MORTH) provides both online and offline service for this. You can also apply and take RC from your mobile.
What is duplicate RC?
When the original RC of your car is lost, spoiled or update the information, you can apply for duplicate RC. It is equally valid as the real RC.
For what reasons duplicate RC is required?
RC Book Losing or Stolen
RC book burst or burnt
Information changing status (eg name, address etc.)
If RC is lost or stolen, it is necessary to first register an FIR in the nearest police station. Without this, the application of duplicate RC will not be accepted.
How to apply online?
Go to Parivahan website: vahan.parivahan.gov.in
Click on Vehicle Registration and enter the registration number of your car.
Choose state and RTO, then proceed by accepting terms & conditions.
Go to RC related services and click on Apply for Duplicate RC.
Put the last 5 points of the chassis number and click Verify.
Generate OTP, which will come to the registered mobile number. Put OTP and proceed.
Explain the cause of duplicate RC and if RC is stolen, fill FIR details too.
Fill the fees online and download Form 26.
Upload the necessary documents and submit the final.
How to do offline application?
Take an appointment in the nearest RTO.
Fill the form 26 and sign.
Apply all the necessary documents, such as FIR copy, pollution certificate, insurance, ID proof etc.
Submit fees in RTO and hand over all the papers to the officer.
On acceptance of the application, you will be given Acknowledgment recept.

Car (Non-Transport)-Rs 300
Car/Taxi (Transport) – Rs 500
Truck/Bus (Heavy Vehicle) – Rs 750

Imported Car – Rs 2500
How to know the status of the application?
Online: Go to the application status and see the status from the application number.
Going to RTO: You can ask the situation by showing the receipt.

In how many days will you get duplicate RC?
