Canara Bank reduced interest on FD, know which FD has reduced interest – Canera Bank Lowered Interest Rate on Fixed Deposit FROM 21 May 2025 RBI REPO RATE

Canera Bank Fixed Deposit Rates: Canara Bank has shocked crores of its customers. The bank has reduced interest on its 444 days special FD by 0.25 per cent. Apart from this, interest on FD of more than 2 years but less than 3 years has reduced 0.20 percent. After reducing the RBI repo rate, most banks are reducing the interest rates of FDs. These new rates have come into effect from 21 May 2025.

Canara Bank’s new FD interest rates implemented

Canara Bank has changed the interest rates of fixed deposits (FD) since 21 May 2025. Now the bank is paying 4% interest on FDs from 7 to 45 days and 5.25% interest on 46 to 90 days deposit. At the same time, 5.50% on FD of 91 to 179 days and 6.15% interest on FD of 180 to 269 days.

Difference between collar and non -collar FD

There are two types of FDs of the bank – collar and non -collar. In the option FD, you can withdraw money ahead of time if needed, while non -collar FD is not allowed to withdraw money before maturity. If you remove, you have to pay penalty. Therefore, before getting FD, it is important to understand when and how you may need money.
