The central government is increasing the defense budget every year. Experts believe that this time the government will again increase the budget for defence. In the budget presented after the Lok Sabha elections last year, the Center had allocated Rs 6.22 lakh crore for the defense sector, which was 4.79 percent more than for the financial year 2023-24. Veterans believe that this time the government can again increase the budget allocated for defense by 5 to 8 percent, so that its three armies can be made more powerful.
The demands and wishes of the army have been fulfilled in the budget.
Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi had recently said that the demands and wishes of the Army have been fulfilled in the budget presented by the Centre. General Dwivedi had said that the Army is considering building better infrastructure and a new headquarters keeping the operations in mind. On this demand of the army, the government has assured them of full cooperation. General Dwivedi had said that there will be no shortage of funds for better infra and new headquarters for the army. Whereas, another senior army officer had expressed full confidence that there is sufficient budget for the needs of the army.
