US President Donald Trump said on Friday that Pakistan officials were coming to America next week. During this time there will be talks between the two countries about tariffs. The US had announced tariffs on several countries last month.

Donald Trump has imposed tariffs on countries with a trade deficit of America. Its purpose is to protect American industries and correct trade balance.

In such a situation, Pakistan may have to pay about 29% tariffs on goods exported to the US. Pakistan sold $ 5.1 billion goods to the US in 2024, while bought 2.1 billion goods from the US. With this, America’s trade deficit of Pakistan is $ 3 billion.

Trump also said that the US is very close to the trade agreement with India. India’s Trade Minister Piyush Goyal recently visited the US to carry forward the conversation. The two countries are trying to sign an interim agreement by the beginning of July. The US imposed 26% tariff on goods sent from India to America.
