A group of students protested when a ‘razor blade’ was found in a meal served in the mess of Hostel at Osmania University in Hyderabad. This incident took place on Tuesday night. After getting the blade, angry students started protesting at the main gate of the university with vegetable utensils and plates.
Bugs found in vegetables two days ago
Students of ‘New Godavari’ hostel gathered in the campus on Tuesday night and demanded justice. He demanded that the Vice Chancellor of the university resolve his concerns on this issue. The students said that ‘razor blade’ was found in the food served at night in the mess of the hostel. Students said that insects were found in cabbage vegetable two days ago. Even after complaining, no concrete steps are being taken regarding this.
Students have to serve themselves food
The students alleged that the employees were not working as per the mess time. This makes the students serve the night itself. Hostels give Rs 2,500-3,000 every month to eat substandard food served in mess. Despite demanding a solution from the university administration, the problem remains the same.
Broken bangles pieces and threads have also been found
At the same time, a leader of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) alleged that the students have found insects, pieces of broken bangles and threads in the food served. He said that the restaurant personnel had earlier assured the students that such incidents would not happen again but the problem remains the same. He alleged that despite repeated complaints, university officials have not taken any concrete action.
A university official said that a committee has been formed to investigate the incident. (With language inputs)
