Delhi and Mumbai
Operations at some airports in North India have been stopped after India’s missile attack on terrorist bases in Pakistan. This also includes the airport of Dharamshala. Dharamshala Airport has been temporarily closed, causing a crisis in front of the IPL teams. Actually, the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals is to be played in Dharamshala on 8 May. Both teams are currently in Dharamshala and will be seen participating in the match to be held tomorrow. The real problem will stand after this match as the Punjab team will remain in Dharamshala by the end of this week, but the team of Delhi Capitals will have to return home to play their next match.
After playing from Punjab in Dharamshala, the Delhi Capitals team will take on the Gujarat Titans at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on May 11. In such a situation, DC players may find it difficult to return to Delhi. If the airport remains closed for a long time, the team captained by Akshar Patel can be brought back to Delhi via bus, but it will not be so easy because the distance from Dharamshala to Delhi is about 500 km. And it will take 10-11 hours to cover this distance, which will be quite tired.
Big trouble stood in front of Mumbai
Apart from Delhi, the Mumbai team’s journey program is also uncertain. After confronting Delhi, the Punjab team has to play their next match in Dharamshala to Dharamshala on May 11 and the team of Mumbai Indians is currently in Mumbai. Now it has to be seen when and how the Mumbai team reaches Dharamshala before the match.
A BCCI source told PTI that nothing is clear at this time. The teams are talking and they are also considering how to return to Delhi from Dharamshala if the airport is closed. He said that one option for Delhi Capitals is to return by bus but not only teams but also broadcasting teams and equipment.
Many airports in the country closed
Significantly, India carried out missile attacks on 9 bases in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Since then, 18 airports have been closed. These include Srinagar, Jeh, Jammu, Amritsar, Pathankot, Chandigarh, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Shimla, Dharamshala and Jamnagar.
