IPL 2025 began on 22 March. By May 7, 57 matches had been played. On May 8, the match was to be played between Punjab and Delhi in Dharamshala, but the match was stopped in between. After this, the cancellation of the match was announced. Now the postponement of IPL has been announced.

A BCCI official told PTI that it is not good that cricket is going on when war is going on in the country. He confirmed the postponement of the league, which was to conclude on 25 May in Kolkata. Now BCCI will have a big challenge to create new schedule for the remaining matches and to reach foreign players in India to their homes. Cricket Australia (CA) is closely watching the increasing tension between India and Pakistan, as more than 20 Australian players and coaches are playing in the current Indian Premier League and Pakistan Super League.
The IPL 2025 had been hovering over the IPL 2025 since the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was canceled in Dharamshala on Thursday after warning of an airstrike in Jammu and Pathankot. Blackouts were implemented in many districts including Pathankot, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Mohali and Union Territory Chandigarh in Punjab amid reports of air strike warnings and explosion in Jammu on Thursday.
Now PSL will be played in UAE
After increasing tension between India and Pakistan, where the Indian Premier League has been postponed indefinitely. At the same time, a day earlier the Pakistan Super League was transferred to the United Arab Emirates i.e. UAE. Significantly, India carried out missile attacks on terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied 15 days after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, killing 26 people. Since then, there has been a fierce battle between the two countries.
