Jasprit Bumrah can miss the first few matches of IPL 2025 for Mumbai Indians (Mi) as he has not yet recovered from back injury. This is a big shock for Mumbai Indians and his fans. Bumrah was hurt during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 on Australia tour. He suffered this injury in the last match of the 5 -match series, after which he could not bowl in the entire match. Due to this injury, Bumrah also had to be eliminated from the ODI series against England and the Champions Trophy 2025. Now he is reported to be out of the opening matches of IPL 2025.
Can miss some matches
According to Espncricinfo report, Jasprit Bumrah is expected to join the team in early April. In such a situation, he will not be able to play 3 matches scheduled in the march of Mi. So far it has not been clear how many matches Bumrah will miss and how long they will be able to return. BCCI is keeping a close watch on the fitness of the star bowler as Team India has to visit England for the Test series in June after IPL. In such a situation, BCCI’s team will not want to make any hurry about management and medical team Bumrah. Mumbai Indians are now waiting for the approval of the Medical Team of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) as NCA will first declare Bumrah as fit. Only after that the way will be cleared of the star bowler to join Mumbai.
