Lohri is a major festival celebrated to mark the harvest in North India, especially Punjab and Haryana. This festival is celebrated a day before Makar Sankranti and symbolizes social and cultural unity with fire worship. On the night of Lohri, family and friends gather around the bonfire and enjoy dishes like peanuts, rewari, gajak and til. Traditional folk songs and Bhangra-Gidda dance further enhance the beauty of this festival. This day brings the message of new hopes and prosperity for the farmers. Will banks remain closed on Lohri?
Due to Lohri which is on 13th January this year, most of the people are thinking that banks will remain closed? So the answer is no. There is no Lohri holiday on Monday in the RBI holiday calendar. Banks will remain open in all states on Monday.
