Bank Holidays: Banks are going to remain closed for 15 days in the first month of the new year, January. The 15 days leave includes all Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays. Banks will remain closed in the month of January due to Makar Sankranti, 26th January, one year after Ram Temple. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the holidays calendar for January 2025. Here we are telling you the list of ongoing holidays of RBI.
Online services will remain active on bank holidays
Even if the banks remain closed, it is a matter of relief for the customers that the online and mobile banking services of the bank will remain operational. Customers can transact using these services. Apart from this, ATM services will also be available as usual. For cash or other banking needs during holidays, banks can use online services or mobile banking apps. Customers can also withdraw cash through ATM.

January 1, 2025 (Wednesday): New Year Day – Banks will remain closed in some states of the country.
2 January 2025 – Banks will remain closed in Mizoram for the New Year.
5 January 2025 (Sunday): Weekly holiday
6 January 2025 (Monday): Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti — Chandigarh, Haryana
11 January 2025 (Saturday): Second Saturday and Missionary Day – Banks will remain closed in all the states of the country except Mizoram.
12 January 2025 (Sunday): Weekly holiday and Swami Vivekananda Jayanti — West Bengal
13 January 2025 (Monday): Lohri — Punjab, Jammu, Himachal Pradesh
15 January 2025 (Wednesday): Thiruvalluvar Day — Tamil Nadu and Tusu Puja — West Bengal, Assam
16 January 2025 (Thursday): Banks will remain closed in Tamil Nadu due to Thiruvalluvar Day.
17 January 2025 (Friday): Banks will remain closed due to Uzwar Thirunal and Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti.
19 January 2025 (Sunday): Weekly holiday
January 22 (Wednesday): Banks will remain closed due to the consecration ceremony of Lord Shri Ram/Imoinu Iratpa in the temple built in Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex.
23 January 2025 (Thursday): Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti — Odisha, Tripura, West Bengal
24 January 2025 (Saturday): Fourth Saturday
26 January 2025 (Sunday): Republic Day — Banks will remain closed across India.
