All banks closed due to National Holiday on 2 October

In October, the bank holiday is starting from today i.e. on 2 October on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti. This is a national holiday, due to which banks will be completely closed in all states and union territories across the country. No branch of the bank will be open on this day. Apart from this, there are many big festivals like Dussehra, Durga Puja, Diwali, Chhath Puja and Bhai Dooj in October, due to which there are long holidays in different states.

Complete list of holidays to be held in different states in October

1 October: Bank closed in West Bengal, Karnataka, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh due to Dussehra, Ayudh Puja and Durga Puja.

October 2: On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, banks will remain closed across India. This is a national holiday, so branches of all states and union territories will not work on this day.

3 and 4 October: Holiday on Durga Puja in Sikkim.

October 6: Bank closed on Lakshmi Puja in Tripura and West Bengal.

October 7: The holiday of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti and Kumar Purnima in Karnataka, Odisha and Himachal Pradesh.

October 10: Bank closed at Karvachauth in Himachal Pradesh.

October 18: Kati Bihu’s holiday in Assam.

October 20: Banks closed in more than 20 states on Diwali, Narak Chaturdashi and Kali Puja.

October 21: Holiday on Lakshmi Pujan and Govardhan Puja in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha.

October 22: Diwali in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh closed banks on new year and Balipadyami.

October 23: Holiday in many states including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal due to Bhai Dooj and Chitragupta Puja.

October 27: Chhath Puja (Evening Arghya) holiday in West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand.

October 28: Bank closed at Chhath Puja (morning Arghya) in Bihar and Jharkhand.

31 October: Holiday on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Jayanti in Gujarat.
