
Bank Holiday in October Month: October 2025 is going to be a month of festivals and during this time there will be long holidays of banks. Banks will remain closed in different states for a total of 21 days this month. It includes festivals as well as regular holidays of the second and fourth Saturdays of Sunday and month. Large festivals like Dussehra, Durga Puja, Diwali, Chhath Puja, Lakshmi Puja and Bhai Dooj will be celebrated in October. Different states holidays
On October 1, banks will remain closed in many states like West Bengal, Karnataka, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh due to Dussehra, Ayudh Puja and Durga Puja.
On October 2, on the day of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, there will be a holiday of banks across India. It is a national holiday, so branches of all states and union territories will remain closed on this day.
On October 3 and 4, Durga Puja will be discharged in Sikkim.
Banks will remain closed on 6 October on the occasion of Lakshmi Puja in Tripura and West Bengal.
On October 7, some states including Karnataka, Odisha and Himachal Pradesh will have a holiday of Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti and Kumar Purnima.
On October 10, banks will be closed at Karvachauth in Himachal Pradesh.
Kati Bihu will be discharged in Assam on 18 October.
Diwali and its festivals
The biggest festival of October is Diwali, due to which there will be holidays for many days.
Banks will remain closed in more than 20 states due to Diwali, Narak Chaturdashi and Kali Puja on 20 October.
On October 21, there will be a holiday for Diwali Amavasya, Lakshmi Pujan and Govardhan Puja in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha.
On 22 October, Diwali will be holiday in many states including Gujarat, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
On October 23, banking services will be affected in many states including Bhai Dooj, Chitragupta Puja and other festivals in many states including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
Chhath Puja and other holidays
On October 27, there will be a holiday on Chhath Puja (evening Arghya) in West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand.
Banks will remain closed on Chhath Puja (morning Arghya) in Bihar and Jharkhand on 28 October.
On 31 October, there will be a holiday on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Jayanti in Gujarat.
Weekend holidays
Banks will remain closed on 11 October (second Saturday), 25 October (fourth Saturday) and every Sunday in October.
