Why will the banks be closed on Wednesday 11 June 2025?
Today, on Wednesday 11 June, banks will remain closed in Himachal Pradesh and Gangtok due to Sant Kabir Jayanti and Saga claim. The rest, banks will be open in all states. Saint Kabir Jayanti is celebrated every year on Jyeshtha Purnima. This day is celebrated with reverence and devotion as the birth date of Sant Kabir Das ji. Saint Kabir was a great social reformer, poet and chief saint of the devotional movement. The Saga claim is dedicated to the birth, attainment of knowledge and Mahaparinirvana of Lord Buddha. This day is considered extremely sacred for Buddhist followers.
