Why will the banks be closed on Monday 26 May?
Kazi Nazrul Islam’s birthday will be celebrated every year on 26 May. He was a great Bengali poet, musician, writer and revolutionary, known as rebellious poet. He raised his voice against social injustice, religious fanaticism and British imperialism through his compositions. His poems and songs are still considered a symbol of freedom, equality and human dignity. Due to this, banks in Tripura will remain closed.
