Why will the banks be closed on Monday 30 June 2025?
On June 30, banks in Mizoram will remain closed on the occasion of Remna Ni. Remna Ni means a day of peace in Mizo language. It is celebrated every year on 30 June, as the Mizoram Peace Agreement was signed in 1986 on the same day. The agreement was a major step to end the problem of extremism that lasted for about 20 years in Mizoram. The people of Mizoram remember this day as a symbol of peace and unity and celebrate with special programs in the entire state. On this day, all public and private banks will remain closed due to government holidays.
