On Tuesday, all government and private sector banks in four states of the country will remain closed. The rest, banks will be open and regular work will be done in all states. Banks will be closed on Tuesday 7 October tomorrow
Tomorrow, on Tuesday, October 7, banks will remain closed at four places. All government and private banks will remain closed on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti and Kumar Purnima in Karnataka, Odisha, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh. Banks will be open in all other states. Both these festivals are celebrated on the full moon of Ashwin month. Maharishi Valmiki has written Ramayana. This day is celebrated in his memory. At the same time, Kumar Purnima is celebrated in eastern India, especially in Odisha and Bihar. On this day people worship the moon and worship Lord Kartikeya.

Banks will remain closed in Tripura, Karnataka, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Nagaland, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Meghalaya on the occasion of Dussehra, Ayudh Puja and Durga Puja (Dasain).
2 October 2025 (Thursday)
There will be a national holiday all over the country on Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti. On this day, banks will remain closed in all states and union territories.
3 and 4 October 2025
Banks will remain closed only due to Durga Puja (Dasain) in Sikkim.
5 October – sunday
6 October 2025
Banks will remain closed due to Lakshmi Puja in Tripura and West Bengal.
7 October 2025
Karnataka, Odisha, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh will have a bank holiday on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti and Kumar Purnima.

Banks will remain closed due to Karvachauth in Himachal Pradesh.

Banks will be holiday due to Diwali Amavasya, Lakshmi Pujan and Govardhan Puja in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim, Manipur, Jammu and Srinagar.

Banks will remain closed on Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, Vikram Samvat New Year, Govardhan Puja and Balipadyami.
