Bank holiday 2025: Today, banks will be closed on Monday 14 April 2025, because today Ambedkar Jayanti is being celebrated across the country. There was a question among crores of bank customers on this day whether the banks would be open or not. According to the RBI holiday list, all government and private banks will remain closed on 14 April.
Ambedkar Jayanti Bharat Ratna is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. He was the creator of the Indian Constitution, a great social reformer and a leader raising voice for the rights of Dalits. On this day, he is paid tribute all over the country. At the same time, Tamil New Year, also known as Puthandu, is celebrated as New Year in Tamil Nadu. People decorate the house, wear new clothes and wish for a good future. These festivals give a beautiful message of India’s cultural diversity and unity.
When will the banks be closed in April 2025?
14 April (Monday) Due to Ambedkar Jayanti and New Year’s New Year festival (Vishu, Bihu, Tamil New Year), banks will be closed in Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya and Himachal Pradesh.
15 April (Tuesday) – Banks will remain closed due to Bengali New Year, Himachal Dey and Bohag Bihu in Assam, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.
April 18 (Friday) – Banks will be closed due to good Friday in Tripura, Assam, Rajasthan, Jammu, Himachal Pradesh and Srinagar.
21 April (Monday) – Banks will remain closed in Tripura. Garia Puja, which is a tribal festival, will be celebrated on this day.
29 April (Tuesday) – Banks will be closed in Himachal Pradesh, because Lord Parashuram Jayanti will be celebrated on this day.
30 April (Wednesday) – Banks will be closed in Karnataka, because the festival of Baswa Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya will be celebrated on this day.
