Independent Rohingya State will be a new Jio-politics challenge for India.
The meeting with leaders of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) at Dhaka, the leaders of the Jamaat-e-Islami Party of Bangladesh, proposed to create an independent Rohingya state in the Rohingya dominated area of Myanmar.
The proposal was given by the leaders of the Jamaat on 27 April. The expert has expressed apprehension that if this proposal is agreed, it may threaten India’s Sittwe port.
This proposal from Bangladeshi leaders has come at a time when the control of extremist groups in Myanmar’s border areas is increasing, due to which the increased number of Rohingya is reaching Bangladesh.
Jamaat leader Syed Abdulla Mohammad Tahir said, “China can play the biggest role in this case as he has a good relationship with Myanmar.”

Expert- Independent Rohingya State of India Danger for port project
India’s Kaladan Multi-Model Transport Project (KMTTP) is an important attempt to connect Northeast India to South-East Asia through Suttwe Port. This project connects the Sittave port of Myanmar to the Indo-Myanmar border. The increasing conflict in Rakhine has increased the difficulties for this project.
According to experts, any proposal of the independent Rohingya State will further enhance instability, which may cause problems to India’s strategic logistic corridor. There are currently 20 thousand Rohingya in India.
If China supports this proposal of Jamaat-e-Islami, it would be a new Jio-political challenge for India. However, experts say that it is very difficult to become an independent Rohingya state.
Bangladesh Foreign Advisor- Rohingya burden on Bangladesh
At the same time, Mohammad Tauheed Hussain, the foreign advisor of the interim government of Bangladesh, described Rohingyas as a threat to Bangladesh. He said- no solution has been found for this problem yet. This has been a burden for us for a long time.
The Arakan Army, along with the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) and Tang National Liberation Army (TNLA), launched ‘Operation 1027’ in October last year, and captured many military bases and towns.
In recent months, the Arakan Army has claimed control over more than 80% of Rakhine State. Myanmar’s military jute is facing a big problem in this area. Due to this increasing struggle, a large number of Rohingya are reaching Bangladesh.
