In the 65th match of IPL 2025, Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered a crushing defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad. In this match, Jitesh Sharma was seen taking command of the team in place of RCB’s regular silver Patidar. The Patidars were not fully fit, so he went to play as an impact player. This is the reason that Jitesh Sharma took over the captaincy of RCB against SRH. However, Jitesh failed in both batting and captaincy. His bat brought only 24 runs and his team lost the match by 42 runs. After this defeat, the team has suffered another strong shock.

Rajat Patidar fined 24 lakhs

Actually, Rajat Patidar has suffered the brunt of Jitesh Sharma’s mistake. Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Rajat Patidar has been fined heavy. The fine has been imposed for a slow over rate against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Since this was the second offense of his team in the seasons related to minimum over-rate offenses under the IPL’s Code of Conduct, the Patidar was fined Rs 24 lakh. The rest of the members of the playing XI, including the Impact Player, have been fined personally either 6 lakh rupees or 25 percent of their respective match fees, whichever is low.

Pat Cummins also fined

Not only Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins has also been fined for slow over rate. This was the first crime of his team in the current season under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which is related to minimum over-perpetal offenses, so Cummins has been fined Rs 12 lakh.
