In the final of the world rankings, the Yanik Sinner, who is in the final of the Australian Open, will be challenged to defend the title when he enters court against Alexander Zverev of Germany here on Sunday. It has been very rarely in the men’s singles that a player has protected his first Grand Slam title of his career from success. The last time Rafael Nadal did such a feat by winning the French Open title in 2005 and 2006. There are many types of challenges in front of the sinner, including the case of doping. This case is still under consideration. In March last year, a small amount of anabolic steroids was confirmed twice in his sample. However, this was made public when the US Open started. He will put full emphasis to win his first title by defeating Sinner. He had failed to capitalize on the two -set lead in the US Open 2020 final against Dominic Thiem. Last year, Carlos Alkaraj defeated him in the final of the French Open. Zverev, however, did not face much trouble to reach the finals. In the semi -finals, Novak Djokovic was challenged in front of him, but the 24 -time Grand Slam Champion decided to withdraw from the match only after a set due to a toe injury.
