Arshdeep Singh ICC T20i Cricketer of the Year: Young fast bowler Arshdeep Singh made his T20 International cricket debut in 2022 and has been leading the bowling attack for India in the last three years. In the absence of Jaspreet Bumrah, India is largely dependent on him. He is currently the most wicket -taking Indian bowler in T20 International cricket. He has mastered bowling in powerplay and death overs. Whenever Team India also needs wickets, Indian captain turns the number of Arshdeep. Now Arshdeep Singh has been selected by the ICC for the T20I Cricketer of the Year Award for the year 2024. He is the first bowler of the Indian team to win this big title. Till now the ICC T20I Cricketer of the Year Award was won by Suryakumar Yadav and Mohammad Rizwan.

For India, in 2024, Arshdeep Singh performed amazing in T20 International cricket. This was the year when he took a lot of wickets from the new ball. This year he took a total of 36 wickets in 18 T20I matches. Throughout the year he remained a problem for the opposing batsmen. In 2024, he took wickets at an economy of 7.49 and a strike rate of 10.80.
Strong performance in T20 World Cup
In the T20 World Cup 2024, Arshdeep Singh’s performance came out and surfaced. He took four wickets in the match against America. In the final too, he emerged as the biggest hero in the match against South Africa. He conceded just 20 runs in his four overs and took two important wickets. He also proved to be quite economical. He threw the 19th over in the match and gave just four runs in it. This increased the pressure on the African team and could not chase 16 runs in the last over. He was the highest wicket -taking Indian bowler in T20 World Cup 2024 and took a total of 17 wickets.

Arshdeep Singh has taken 97 wickets in 61 T20 International matches for the Indian team so far. Apart from this, he has taken 12 wickets in 8 ODIs for India. He has taken 66 wickets in first class cricket.
