Stampede broke out in Vishnu Nivasam of Tirupati
Tirupati: Four devotees were killed and six others injured in a stampede during token distribution for Vaikuntha Dwara Darshanam of Lord Venkateswara Temple in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati on Wednesday. According to reports, the incident took place at Tirupati Vishnu Nivasam, where tokens were being distributed. One of the deceased has been identified as Mallika, who was a resident of Salem in Tamil Nadu.
CM ordered investigation
At the same time, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has expressed deep grief over the death of four devotees in the accident in Tirupati. He has asked the authorities to investigate the incident and provide better medical facilities to the injured. CM Naidu has ordered an investigation into the incident.
The injured were admitted to the hospital
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) had opened 94 counters in nine centers in Alipiri, Srinivaspuram and other areas to distribute tokens for the auspicious Vaikuntha Ekadashi on January 10. All the injured have been admitted to Ruia Hospital for treatment.
Due to this there was a stampede
Ticket centers have been set up at Srinivasam, Vishnu Nivasam, Satyanarayanapuram, Bairagipatteda Ramanaidu School in Tirupati to issue tickets for Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan. When a large number of devotees came to buy tickets, a stampede broke out. TTD has announced that Vaikuntha Dwar Darshan tokens will be issued at 94 counters set up at nine centers in Tirupati from 5 am on Thursday. Due to this, there was a queue of devotees for tokens from this evening itself. A stampede broke out when the devotees were allowed entry together in the queue.

The number of injured may increase
A woman died in the stampede. Three died in hospital. The number of injured is expected to increase. Vigilance and police forces are on the spot. There is also news of stampede in Bairagipatteda Ramanaidu School. There is news of some people getting injured here too.
Crowd gathered for Vaikuntha Ekadashi festival
Lakhs of pilgrims are expected to visit during Vaikuntha Ekadashi celebrations through special darshan through Vaikuntha Dwaram. TTD clarified that only valid token holders would be allowed to travel and then announced strict measures to manage the crowd.
Let us tell you that Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) had announced token distribution at eight places in three days (January 10-12). Despite the presence of TTD patrol staff and local police, the large number of people involved made crowd control difficult.
