The US asked Australia and Japan to show their stand on the situation of war with China over Taiwan.
According to a report by the Financial Times, the US Ministry of Defense (Pentagon) Policy Sub-Secretary Elbridge Callby has held several meetings on the issue with Australian and Japanese Defense Officers.
Callby said on the social media platform X on Saturday- US President Donald Trump is implementing the first policy of the US first policy, appealing to allies to increase defense spending and support for collective security.
Responding, Australia said that he would not promise to send soldiers in advance in any war that Taiwan. Defense Industry Minister Pat Conrooy said- Australia does not discuss the imaginary situation.
Japan has not yet made any official statement. Actually, in 1949, Taiwan separated from China and formed a country. China has been considering Taiwan as its part since the beginning. There is a situation of confrontation between the two countries about this.
The then government will decide to send soldiers
Australia’s Defense Industry Minister Pat Conroy said in an interview to Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), “The government will decide to send Australian soldiers to a struggle at that time. We will not take any decision from now on.”
He also said that Australia gives the most importance to its sovereignty and does not discuss the imaginary conditions. The same, Conrooy expressed concern over China’s military activities.
He said that China is trying to build a military base in the Pacific island, which is not good for Australia. Australia wants to be a security partner in the region and is interacting for it.
PM on Australia’s visit to China

Joint military practice between Australia-America
A joint military practice called Talisman Sebar has started between Australia and America on Sunday. It is Australia’s largest war training exercise, in which 40,000 soldiers from 19 countries (Japan, South Korea, India, Britain, France, Canada etc.) are participating.
The exercise will last for two weeks and will be from Christmas Island in Australia to Coral Sagar. Vice Admiral Justin Jones, head of the Australian Defense Force, said that the exercise would test the army’s strength and capacity to operate in the northern part of Australia.
He said, “This is a simultaneous practice of 19 countries, which shows our shared stance for peace, stability and Azad Indo-Pacific in the region.”
Lieutenant General Joel Wall of the US Army said that it is a way to prevent instability in the exercise field and avoid war. He said, “Our goal is not war, but peace. We can go fast alone, but together we will go far.”
