Elon Musk is going to start its satellite broadband service starlink in India. Musk has talked to PM Modi on a recent US tour on issues related to technology, innovation and space sector in India. Before Alan Musk’s satellite broadband service, Indian telecom company Airtel has taken a big step about this service. ONEWEB, a company back by Bharatiya Airtel, has approached the Department of Telecommunications ie DOT to launch its service in India soon. Onweeb has sought a fast track approval from the Department of Telecommunications to connect its twins to the station gateway to a low-end orbit (Leo) global satellite in India.

In its letter to the Department of Telecommunications (DOT), Airtel has said that by getting approval, India can be made a global hub of satellite broadband service in South Asia. OneWeb provides satellite broadband service in other countries except Pakistan and China in South Asia. After getting approval from the Department of Telecommunications, India’s distinct identity can be established in the SATCOM industry. Onweeb provides broadband service in 25 countries through its lower orbit satellite.

Talking about South Asian countries, Onweb International Distribution Partner and Local Telecom operators to provide satellite broadband services in South and Southeast Asian countries such as Sri Lanka, Maldive, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand Is in preparation. The eastern and western coasts of India will set up the Onewab Earth Station Gateway in Mehsana and Tamil Nadu in Gujarat.

GMPCS permit has been received

To start the satellite broadband service in India, Onweb already has a permission of GMPCS, a GMPCS, a GMPCS.
