New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party has won a stunning victory in the Delhi Assembly elections. The party returned to power after nearly 27 years, giving a shock to the Aam Aadmi Party led by Arvind Kejriwal. At the same time, parties like Bahujan Samaj Party, Communist Party of India and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen also failed to get one percent vote. However, in some time, BSP, which made its strong presence in Delhi, was able to get less than seats like AIMIM and JDU in these elections.

AIMIM lodged its strong presence

According to the Election Commission data, AIMIM got 0.78 per cent of the total votes, BSP 0.58 per cent, CPI 0.2 per cent and JDU fighting one seat 0.86 per cent. A total of 0.56 percent of the voters opted for ‘NOTA’. AIMIM, headed by Asaduddin Owaisi, contested the Delhi assembly elections on only 2 seats, Okhla and Mustafabad, but the party managed to register its presence. In both the seats, his candidates finished third. The 2020 Delhi riots accused and currently jailed Shifa ur Rehman Khan and Tahir Hussain reduced the vote percentage of ‘AAP’ and performed better than the Congress.

Congress is reduced to zero in third consecutive election

Meanwhile, Bahujan Samaj Party failed to make its presence in Delhi once again. The party contested all 70 assembly seats, but could not get even one percent of the total votes. Let us know that in the Delhi Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party has won 48 out of 70 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party has got 22 seats. The condition of the Congress was also disturbed in these elections and the party could not even open its account in the third consecutive assembly elections in Delhi. The condition of the party was so bad that 67 out of 70 seats, its candidates were forfeited till bail. (Language)
