Mehboob Khan
Mehboob Khan will always be known as the director of ‘Mother India’, the first Indian film nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. After the best success of ‘Mother India’, Mehboob Khan formed ‘Son of India’ in 1962. In the film, Mehboob gave the lead role to sons Sajid Khan, Kamaljeet, Simi Garewal. Mehboob Khan had a different passion for learning and the urge to do something great made him famous in Hindi cinema. His films are still in discussion among the people. Mehboob Khan’s film heritage is so large that it is not limited to just one film. Many of his films are different for many reasons. To become an actor, he took a big step
Born in a small village near Baroda in 1906, Ramadan Khan, born at a police constable’s house, became familiar with the cinema world through theaters. After going to nearby cities to watch one or two films, he was convinced at a very young age that he had to become a hero. He ran away from home to Mumbai at the age of 16, but his policeman father discovered him and brought him back. He forcibly married a girl from his neighboring village. The couple had three sons. However, Mehboob Khan tried again at the age of 23 and reached the dream city of dreams with just 3 rupees in his pocket. Initially, he played several characters as an extra actor with the Imperial Film Company. In 1931, director Ardeshir Irani gave him the opportunity to play the lead role in India’s first speaking film ‘Alam Ara’. Today, this Mehboob is called the most successful director of Indian cinema.
Famous as director
In 1935, he got his first major break as a director with the decision of ‘Al Hilal or Allah’, which was an action-rich film about the Roman-Arab confrontation. This cecil b. Among the films he made in this early stages of his career, ‘woman’ (1940) was most liked. In 1942, Khan established his own Mehboob Productions.
