Aadhaar Update: Now school will be updated in school, 7 crore children will get benefit; UIDAI is doing big planning – free aadhaar biometric update for child

Aadhaar update: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is going to start a biometric update of children’s Aadhaar card i.e. child Aadhaar soon through schools. This base is made without newborns without biometric details, which is necessary to update later. The initiative of UIDAI’s biometric update will be implemented in a phased manner in the next two months. This is expected to benefit about 7 crore children across the country.

Biometric update compulsory after the age of five years

According to UIDAI CEO Bhuvanesh Kumar, mandatory biometric update – MBU has not yet happened for children who have completed five years of age. If this is not updated, the credibility of the Aadhaar may be affected. The child’s base can also be deactivated in case of lack of updates after the age of seven years.

Goal of comprehensive coverage through schools

Kumar said that this work will be done with the consent of parents. Technical tests are currently underway and the project is likely to start in the next 45 to 60 days. UIDAI will deploy biometric machines in each district. These will be used by rotating in schools, so that coverage can be ensured on a large scale.

Aadhaar update of 5 to 7 year old child free

This biometric update will be done free of cost between 5 and 7 years of age. At the same time, a fee of ₹ 100 will be applicable after the age of seven years. Updated Aadhaar card is necessary for services like admission in school, scholarship, registration of entrance examinations and services like Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Second update at the age of 15 years from schools

UIDAI is also working on a plan to implement other biometric updates required at the age of 15 in future through schools. However, UIDAI’s focus is on the first biometric update, which may start soon.

The initial basis is released without biometric

Newborn and children under five years of age are released without Aadhaar without biometric information. UIDAI believes that by making this process simple and accessible through schools, children will be able to get all government benefits on time.
