How to check Aadhaar card?
- First go to the official website of UIDAI https://uidai.gov.in.
- Click on “Aadhaar Authentication History” in the “Aadhaar Services” section on the homepage.
- Fill your 12 -digit Aadhaar number and security code on the next page, then click on Send OTP.
- An OTP will come on your registered mobile number. Fill it and submit it.
- Now you have to fill the necessary information like authentication, date range and OTP.
- Finally click on “Verify OTP”. You will get a record for the last 6 months of Aadhaar.
- This will show that on which day, in which service and where your Aadhaar was used.

A special thing is important to keep in mind that there is no official process to cancel a person after the death of a person. Therefore, the Aadhaar card of the deceased is the responsibility of the family that it should not be misused.
If the dead person was taking advantage of a scheme or subsidy, the concerned department should inform about his death, so that his name can be removed from the scheme.
How to lock the base of the dead person?
It is easy to lock Aadhaar from UIDAI’s website and any kind of misuse can be prevented. Let’s know the process of locking Aadhaar:
- Go to https://uidai.gov.in.
- Click on the “Lock/Unlock Aadhaar” option in the “Aadhaar Services” section.
- To lock, fill the Aadhaar number, name, pincode and enter OTP.
- Now the Aadhaar card will be locked.
This base can also be unlocked. This will require virtual ID and OTP.
