RBI imposed several restrictions on New India Co-operative Bank
Let us tell you that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Thursday imposed several restrictions on the New India Co-operative Bank in Mumbai. Under this sanctions, bank customers also cannot withdraw money from their account. According to a PTI report, the Reserve Bank has also banned the withdrawal of any amount by customers in view of the current cash status of New India Co-operative Bank, irrespective of their account. It is a matter of concern that the RBI has banned the bank for the next 6 months and it is also being reviewed.
Customers will get up to Rs 5 lakh under deposit insurance claim
Keeping in mind certain conditions, one can set off the loan on the deposit. Apart from this, this bank can also spend for some important tasks like salary, rent and electricity bill of its employees. According to RBI’s instructions, New India Co-operative Bank will not give any loan or advanced loan from February 14 without pre-ephemeral. Apart from this, this bank will neither do the deposit of any customer from today nor will withdraw money from their account. However, all the eligible deposits of New India Co-operative Bank will be entitled to receive the insurance claim amount on their deposits up to Rs 5 lakh from the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation.
